Due to changing battery supply markets the available batteries that work with this adapter keep changing.
When a good battery for this adapter is found eventually all the stock becomes sold out. If you would like it to ship with a Deans or XT60 connector please message me your choice of connector if its not XT90, just prior to purchase and go straight to purchasing it without waiting for my reply. (I will reply but it may not be right away) The XT90 XT60, or Deans version will work with all 3 batteries listed here. But you will need a plug conversion adapter to connect any of the other 2 type of battery connectors (XT60 , XT90, or Deans) if you choose a battery adapter that has the same connector as the batteries you chose to use, you are all set. If you choose a battery with another type of connector, simply purchase a ie. XT90 to XT60 adapter found here on eBay from other sellers for around . Same for batteries with a Deans etc. connector.  If you use a plug adapter get one that uses wires (not a one piece adapter) (about here on eBay)
Again if you just purchase without sending me a message that you want a different connector, I will send you a XT90 connector version.

This is a must do.
Without it your compass could get confused and you will have a wild ride landing it or worse a crash.
The only known battery that you would not need to install the GPS adapter is the 6400mah battery that is currently out of stock.
I will not be able to test without the adapter anymore since i already have the adapter installed and I also don't want to go without it again.
Anyway once you have the GPS adapter installed you will never want to go back to the old waiting for a GPS lock
ever again.

I can only say this 8000mah battery should fit since it list same dimensions as the 6000mah LiHv and again with this 8000mah battery I haven't yet purchased it so I haven't tested it also.
If someone does test one of these 2 newer battery types and messages me the results.... I will update here with what I hear.

Without installing  the GPS  adapter you may have issues with a error stating compass not calibrated and land and re calibrate. You  could possibly have control issues and crash. So just make sure you install the GP
S adapter before flying with any alternate batteries. The issues are resolved by installing the included GPS Tower MOD. Keep in mind a new top cover from VertigoDrones is 8.99 plus 6.99 shipping, so if you install the GPS Mod and later want to remove it you could just replace your top cover with a new one for cheap. Use this adapter to save money on batteries.
Higher mAh battery don't get more flight time due to being heavier.
Even lower mAh battery still get similar flight times due to being lighter.
Basically purchase batteries that have a good fit for a good price.
The only way for more flight times are with the LiHV 15.2v batteries, these hold higher voltage with same weight as 14.8v. But they cost more also.
May also work with other batteries. "See dimensions photo" Be sure it will not be to tall or wide.
Basically if it fits in the hole it will probably work.
Basically, with the adapter inserted it only uses 3mm of space on one side. So, simply subtract 3mm from the width of a stock battery and you will know the maximum width of a battery that will work with this battery adapter. 50mm high by 48.5mm wide will be the maximum dimensions and matching one of these numbers will cause a tight fit making it difficult to insert and remove the battery.

Must use these batteries since the adapter is custom fit for them. Be sure the batteries you buy match the photos in this listing. Or research the sizes that will fit and experiment and try other battery options with this adapter.
Older style adapters currently available from other sellers are set up to place the battery with the wiring forward, which causes the battery to stick out farther back, putting the drone off balance, causing a rear heavy condition.
The drawback to this new version is having the wires on the outside, but perfect balance is maintained since the battery can now be pushed all the way inside the drone. Now, it's very convenient since now the adapter stays inside the drone while changing the batteries. Just disconnect cord, push button, pull out battery. Push next battery in, and connect cord. Battery will lock in automatically.
A stock Typhoon H had issues with GPS signal due to interference from its own electronics. The GPS Tower adapter include here will raise you GPS sensor up out of the interference, making your Typhoon H locate satellites faster, and eliminate the issues with remote stating it has error with compass, please land and calibrate compass.
Will fit in case with GPS adapter in place. will not need to remove adapter to put drone into backpack.

Don't buy Chinese batteries.... Made in China is OK just not Shipped from China. The tested 7500mah from BanGood are good though.
If needed, return shipping from USA to China is around 0

Yes, it works with the H520 as it is.
Both H520 and H480 are able to interchange batteries, so it is straight forward.
Many are using this adapter, buying low cost 15.2v LiHv batteries and saving hundreds on batteries.
They do this with the 480 and 520 drones.
You are even able to use your H520 with standard 14.8v Lipo batteries saving more money with just minutes less flight time vs the more expensive 15.2v LiHv batteries.
Very interchangable.

I was wondering if you knew the dimensions for the batteries I should be looking for, or any battery recommendations?

For the battery size... Since 3 years ago when I started this adapter, the battery size has become a standard size. Very lucky for us with this drone.
Before that the sizes were all over the place.
If you look for hard shell around this size 48.5mm x 50mm x 138mm there is a 99% chance you will get the perfect size for this adapter.
Sellers may not have the size exact in their description, so if the size they list is close, it is probably the exact size needed for our adapter.
I recommend you don’t get worried about the Mah ratings of the batteries. Shop for best price in hard shell with dimensions close to what I listed above. There will not be a magical battery that will get more flight time since it will only be heavier and have no gains in flight time.
If you can get 15.2v LiHv instead of 14.8v LiPo that would be a bonus.
